Pihlajakoto Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) I used FromJapan shopping service to get Obitsu65 male body. The body arrived broken on 5th of May 2013. I asked FromJapan at that time could I get replacement parts for the body from Obitsu, but they adviced me to make damage claim as the shipping was fully insured EMS package. They gave me bloody awfull advice as at first made me do the damage claim on my own country. After one month my own post office replied 'Sorry the damage claim has to be done by sender at their local post office'. I informed FromJapan and they said they will do the damage claim. They have not contacted me back since then. I ask about it once a month and will get reply 'We'll get back to you' NOW IT HAS TAKEN A BLOODY YEAR ALREADY AND NO KNOWLEDGE OF RESOLUTION!! Please, does anyone have good advice how to get the resolution? Is there anything I can do else than loose my nerves waiting? I have no idea how long it takes usually to decide wether or not the insurance will pay but 10 months seems a excessively long time... I hate when things take this long to get decided and I hate even more that I have to keep the broken item intact while waiting for the resolution. I just know that even if FromJapan was a really good service this makes me hate them and just hit them on the head UPDATE -Insert as many swearwords here as you can- I found an email address to contact Japan Post Office and they replied to me. Since no information was found on the tracking system for the EMS (EM051025443JP) which you are inquiring about, we have checked with the Tokyo International Postal Operation to see if they have a record of your item. As a result, we found that no procedures for a damage claim or an EMS investigation has been taken by the sender. Procedures for an EMS Investigation must be taken in order to have the other country set up a search. When the results come out, actions are taken to assess if you are eligible in getting compensation. The EMS Investigation Form must be submitted within six months, counting from the next day after you sent the postal item. Soo... I made damage claim in Finland but FromJapan didn't do it in Japan even when they had quite a many moons to do so. I will not use FromJapan ever again and I would not recommend using FJ if you want to buy something expensive and have it shipped insured. I just know that even if FromJapan was a really good service this makes me hate them and just hit them on the head I had some figures arrive damaged during a purchase last year from Noppin (YJA). After informing them the proxy took care of the damage claim between myself and them and it only took roughly a week. I will also note they only gave me a small amount back versus the amount of the full damage of the item I recieved. I assume they pocketed the rest of the claim. Not sure why yours has been pushed out so far if it was fully covered. Can say I hope you get your money back.
Amber Posted May 13, 2014 I am from America, so this might not be relevant for your country, but whenever Volks sent me a replacement neck/shoulder part (whenever the DD3 bodies came out and had lots of problems) the first one that I got from them broke in transit. I e-mailed Volks and told them that it broke, and they said that since it was insured by EMS I had to file a claim with my local post office (USPS). I filed a claim on their website and within a week I had a full refund. I had to send pictures that it had been broken, as well as the receipt from the box that Volks put in there stating how much that it was worth. I'm sorry to say, that most insurance claims are not relevant (at most) after 30 days since the package was received. Because then they will just try to say that the person who got the package broke it themselves. In 10 months, I'm almost 100% sure they will just say you broke it yourself. I think that FromJapan is blowing you off, honestly. Or they filed the claim a long time ago and kept the money for themselves. I think you should try to find a way to get in contact with EMS yourself, and give them all of the information that you have... The emails between FromJapan, and any other relevant things they will need. If this happened to me, I would tell my story and experience with FromJapan on other websites. Bad advertisement tends to encourage people do the right thing, or so I have noticed. After reading what has happened to you, it has made me not want to ever do business with them... And that's not something they want people to feel. I hope you can get in contact with EMS and that they will help you. I was devastated when my doll broke and it took longer for me to get her fixed, and it was nowhere near 10 months. http://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/ems/delivery/contact_en.html That page has some numbers for different countries, they may be able to help you, or at least steer you into the right direction of finding who to contact. jadepixel Posted May 14, 2014 Aw man, I am sorry to hear about your trouble I've used FromJapan in the past but I'm not sure I would again after hearing this. Damage in shipping is the responsibility of the shipper, not the recipient. If you paid with a credit card, you may still be able to make a claim against FromJapan depending on the buyer protection that is offered by your CC. I don't know if they have a twitter account, but I've found that venting on social media will sometimes get a speedy response. jadepixel doll lab jadepixel eye shop
DJStarstryker Posted May 14, 2014 It's been over a year at this point. I highly doubt either postal service (your country or Japan) will do anything now. Most postal services want claims by the 30 day mark. Are you ready to rock? ^_^

I'm sorry to hear they didn't get what you wanted but at least the matter is closed. The obitsu is badly injured or you can try to repair yourself? The body is badly injured. The inner skeleton has broken so I have one leg broken from knee and one arm broken on elbow and those parts are completely severed from the body. I don't know if I can fix it but atleast now I can try as I don't have to keep the package and item intact. We'll see if I finally end up having DDH-07 Obitsu65 hybrid. I think I mentioned it in your blog comments, or somewhere else, but you might want to still take a look at for instance the Parabox spares pictures for the single-hinged obitsu-60, if anything there is close to what you need to fix the body.
