I hosted a doll meetup at my house last weekend and we had a really good time with it. It was sort of a half birthday party, half doll photosession. Since I have some decent studio style lights now, a lot of the people that come to these local meets asked if we could do some shoots using them. So I figured it would be fun to let others use them so they can get nice shots.

 

After everyone else was done with their photos, I got my girls together and took some nice portrait styled pics of them. They all got dressed up for me for my B-day and I didn't want that to go to waste. So I got each girl and let her do some poses for me alone.

 

I think I got a few really great shots this time around. Below are some of the best photos I got. If you want to see all of them, please check here:

 

 

First up is Rei. She is wearing a white cheongsam that came with Elisabeth.

 

 

 

Since I had each girl in the room one at a time, Rei decided to give me a little birthday present...

 

 

Next up is Mai. She's wearing a party dress that I simply love.

 

 

 

Mai also decides to get a little frisky....

 

 

Yoko wanted to be next. She was happy to be wearing this outfit I originally got for Mamimi from Alices Collections. I think Yoko likes plaids.

 

 

 

 

Mamimi decided to try on a Volks set that I originally got for Rei. The following photos of Mamimi are some of the best I think I have done for her. She really glows in these in my opinion.

 

 

 

This next one is by far my favorite of Mamimi.

 

 

By now, Manami was chomping at the bit to show me what she looked like in the Sugar White Lolita set I recently got. I was quite happy with how it turned out.

 

 

Of course my little princess had to give me some service or she wouldn't be happy.

 

 

And since we had been so busy all day, snack time went by and no cookies were served. Manami gave me her best sad face and asked for some cake. How can I turn this litle face down?

 

 

After we got her some cake, it was Yukinos turn to come in. She wore the outfit I got for Mamimi from Dolpa 25. It says it fits any of the DDII busts so I decided to see how she handled this one. The outfit did not come with the baggy socks, Yukino added those herself.

 

 

She loves her Kuma-kun.

 

 

Now we see how this outfit really works on an L-bust. Yukino is practically busting out of it!

 

 

But she is so adorable wanting to be hugged!

 

 

I asked Sango to let me get some pics of her next but she wasn't really helping me much....

 

 

I thought she would like this outfit since it was black and white but she seemed to be upset with me again.

 

 

 

As Sango was complaining about the bright lights, Miyuki bounced in and took over the photo area.

 

 

She is wearing her favorite outfit, the "Pink Puff" from Nightfall.

 

 

She has been hanging out with Manami way too much lately tho, I can see the influence when Miyuki gives me my birthday present...

 

 

Next, I had to wait for Elisabeth to get her hair in order. She kept saying it wasn't nice enuff for pics. Silly girl. She is wearing the short red Cheongsam i got for Rei in the Azone store in Akihabara.

 

 

 

This girl is just so sweet!

 

 

Last but not least is my "Unicorn" Ryomou. This was the first time she had worn her school uniform for me. I must say she looks great in it. She preffered to keep her new wig instead of posing with her default tho. I think she likes not having to wear her eyepatch with this one.

I love this picture of her. It's like she's meditating... or thinking about something that smells sweet. Or maybe she is inhaling the fear of an opponent she is about to destroy.

Wow, these shots are amazing. I admit to being jealous, I wish I could take photos like this! Your girls are all gorgeous. Funny, though, it seems they all wanted to give a little fan service!

Thank you so much! It took me a long time to be able to take pics like I wanted but I am finally beginning to be happy with what I am doing. But I still have a long way to go before I can do what I really want. I just have to keep practicing!

 

My girls are so silly. Them just posing normally for me is a great birthday present, they don't have to do anything like fanservice. They just enjoy making me blush and get all fidgety when they do it.

 

And I would be glad to take a picture of my lights and such. The next photo shoot I do this weekend, I'll get some shots for you, kind of a behind the scenes deal.

Nice photos. I really like Rei in that dress. And I see the strain of wearing an outfit with a nice pure name like Sugar White was just too much for Manami so she had to wear black underneath.

One of the reasons I still haven't posted any photos is bad lighting, so I'll have to check out your behind the scenes pics and maybe look into getting myself a better setup...

Thank you sir! I am also loving how Rei looks in that white dress. She is just amazing to me. And altho you think it was difficult for Manami to wear all white, it's in her nature to be SHOWY. She *has* to have some type of color on her somewhere! And she loves her new lace undies so she wears them all the time now.

I totally understand the whole lighting issue, I went thru all sorts of hoops trying to get my pics to look good before I finally found the right setup. Now that I have a DSLR and some good lights, I'm way happier with how my pics turn out. But I know I can still do better! I'll be glad to get some shots for you of my lights and such.

Aww, thank you very much! I really do think that the shots I got of Mamimi are the best I've taken of her so far. She really just glows in them.... she is being cute and coy but playful too. I adore her!

It's all your fault James. This camera is just way too good! I knew you would like the Yukino pics since you also have one. She really amazes me with how different she can look at certain angles and in certain clothes. She's way more versatile than I figured she could be. I am *so* happy I was able to adopt her. As for Mamimi, she's my baby. She's the youngest of the girls and she gets treated as such by her sisters. So finally getting some decent shots of her made me extremely happy.

 

And yes, those baggy socks ROCK!

Thanks! I appreciate your praise. I'm glad people the outfits go with who was wearing them. I tried to let them choose their own this time around and it seems to have worked! And yes, my list of usual supects shows off once again.

I totally agree about curly wigs and flyaways! I have really only had one curly wig from Volks and when it was new and in good shape, I loved it. But the flyaways got to be so bad, I had to put the wig into retirement until I find someone who can repair the curls. I've tried all sorts of stuff but nothing seems to work well. That and I don't have hair curlers for obvious reasons.

I agree that Rei really stands out in white clothing. I need to see about getting more for her. And I seriously doubt she would EVER wear anything related to bridal wear....

 

And yes, the outfit Mai is wearing is one of my top five favorite dresses ever. It's so nice looking on anyone I put it on!

 

I'm thinking Sango and Elisabeth will wind up joining the maid brigade eventually. But you're right in thinking Elisabeth not being able to wield any weapons or hurt anyone. I think her weapon will be her ability to stop anyone in their tracks with overwhleming adorableness.
