miamurray Posted June 14, 2014 Do you always create a new character or do you ever *love* a character from a tv or film and find the right doll for them? I've done both ^_^ Hello Dollies! XD
Guest Aurea Posted June 14, 2014 I've met one who recently was disguised as a mutual loved anime character

Semienigma Posted June 26, 2014 I do that all the time XD My girls are dolls but they are also characters XD Its fun seeing characters in 3d form. Cocoa (Custom Tan Yukino) is currently taking over my house, and soon...THE WORLD! Now Mocha's here...And Latte too...this escalated quickly didn't it...Wait...is that...is that SABER EXTRA?! and now there's a Yukari http://www.semienigma.wordpress.com
miamurray Posted June 29, 2014 I love the names! So cute I want to work on a DD and eventually have her as Belldandy. They have a great SD Bell, but she's very $$$$$$$ so I will improvise! Hello Dollies! XD
Yukamina Posted June 29, 2014 I make new characters for my dolls mostly ^_^ They each have a name and a personality and a style, but are flexible enough that I can dress them up differently depending on what I want to see! I made one of my DDs after a preexisting original character of mine, and I don't change the wig /eyes on that one much (maybe variations on the same colors). But I have a Miku preorder, and I plan to keep her as Miku. That'll be a first for me, having a character doll. I also want to have a couple of my girls cosplay Rei Ayanami, IA and SeeU from vocaloid. My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt
miamurray Posted June 30, 2014 Well here are my work-in-progress Chii and Belldandy If anyone has any tips, please share! Hello Dollies! XD
Pullasuttu Posted July 24, 2014 Don't have a doll yet, but I have been planning on doing characters from my favorite anime, like Black Rock Shooter and DeadMaster from BRS and Taiga from Toradora would also be fabulous! Still I think, I might end up making them tiny bit different, maybe make them cosplay or so~ Home: Willow
rensuchan Posted July 26, 2014 I guess when the dolls are more anime based, I tend to want to recreate characters I like... but with a more human like face for some of the resin dolls, I'm finding myself wanting to create and name the doll myself instead. Oni-Chan Posted July 26, 2014 My girls 1, 3 - 7 and 10 all are characters I've made by using their faceup, eyes and wig combo as a basis of what their personalities have become. (They're all painted by different people) also giving them a name to match the personality helps me a lot ^-^ #2 is a Mariko so she's slightly character default #8 and #9 are characters I've customized to be actual manga characters - shouta and Sawako from Kimi ni todoke. They will be slightly character default. #11 will be Hatsune Miku, who will be character default, but she will also have an alias as well XD Personally I like "original" characters best ♡ I have more dollfies than my age in years *×*
miamurray Posted September 1, 2014 Ya know, when I got my first two I didn't really give much thought to original characters. I think because it as new to me I just thought I would base them on my favorite two anime girls. I did that for a while...then I started getting inspired My DDH-04 is named Mayumi (She goes by Mayu and Yumi depending on who she's talking to) and she has her own personality. My DDH-01 has a personality totally different, but we haven't settled on a name yet. I finally "get" it! Just like every person is different, so is every doll. Inspiration and imagination are fantastic. I think DDs help us tap into that creative element so many lose as adults. Does anyone else agree? Anyhoo, I had an idea the other night. I'm not into Barbies and never really have been. No hate for them, just didn't get into them. The only exception is this aaaawesome one that came out a few years ago for $50 and now is on ebay for $300-$450. I wish I had bought one, but didn't. Now I think I want to base a doll on that dolls looks and go from there. She's a Barbie/Tokidoki collaboration and looks like this if you've never seen her: Not my doll or photo by makeeverythingkawaii, on Flickr Sassy, huh? XD Hello Dollies!
