I won the lottery !!!!

Haha....

But it was for SDC Mina. She's so cuuuute. Did anyone here enter for her as well... (I know it's heresy to discuss SDs here.... )?

No luck on Makoto but I did get Mina, my first Volks resin girl

I got Mina too. Congratulations!

Once you try resin, you don't go back.... so watch out.

I didn't win either Alisa or Makoto but when I looked on YAJ I managed to get Makoto for 64k yen which is just 3.5k more than on Volks. After that her price started to rise so phew! Also will be getting mine in a week or two, and not in November/December so worked out well for me

I got both SDC Mina and SDC May. They're both so cute! I can't decide on whether or not I want to repaint them because they're already so gosh darn adorable.

For the first time in my life I won for every item I put in for (Makoto, SDC Mina, SDC May). I'm still in shock.

Holy cow, congrats! Please pass some of that luck on to me next time!

After going through the last couple of pages, it seems many here had more luck with the resin ladies than the vinyl ones.

Yeah, it completely took me by surprise! Especially after not getting Ranko and Rin in the past lottery, haha. I always wondered if perhaps there are more Dollfie Dream fanciers entering than for the resins? SDC dolls are historically not that popular in the first place.

I somewhat regret not entering for the wild strawberry outfit now, but I'll live. Can't wait to repaint Makoto. 333

How much do you think she will be on the second hand market? I'm seeing her around 110k yen on Y!J now, would it increase later on? If so, i might be frustruated enough to go and bite that price:(

I paid 100,000 yen for Ranko on 1 June (not counting local shipping and buyee fees). I see she's selling for 107,000 yen currently.

How much did you have to pay for commission if i may ask? I heard buyee is expensive, rinkya is so so and me personally only used from japan once, but was disappointed with them:(

I think it makes sense that DDs sell better than resin, mainly for the reason that there are people that want them for their value as "anime figures", rather than just the dolls themselves. And more so because they're usually from popular -at the time of release- anime. For example, Belldandy sold pretty fast too because she was from a popular anime, but Creamy Mami was really slow to sell.

Makoto wasn't too popular, I think once the lottery winners receive her then the prices will be pretty reasonable.

SDC aren't very popular either, probably why they were easy to win this time.

Ah but then scalpers were already aware she wasn't going to be popular and I think Volks hopefully knew she wouldn't be as popular either so could be most dolls went to actual collectors rather than resellers and volks might not have made so many of her. Who knows though! o.o

Opening price was 99,000 yen.

Here's what Buyee charged me:

100000 yen

10000 yen

200 yen

1,850 yen

Buyee offers sniper bidding which is nice.

Have you used JaponicaMarket? I used them to get DDS Yukiho Hagiwara. They communicate by email but do snipe bidding too.

I purchased the Goth loli outfit seperately, also with Buyee.

16001 yen

1600 yen

200 yen

Thanks for your info! It looks like Rinkya will be cheapest since they charge a flat 40$ fee for item from 40000 to 100000 yen. I don't know anything beyond that price though I will update once they reply back to my email.

One problem i have with Buyee and Rinkya though is that i don't trust snipe bid, or their auto bid. I would rather camp all night till morning to bid it myself A mere 5min interval snipe bid isn't secured at all. What i'm more worried about now is the shipping fee. Last time i got a peachpai and shipping is like 80$. With the size and dimension of Alisa's box, that would be the same as buying on ebay

You could try Noppin/Crescent Shop.

Snipe has worked for me. The point of snipe IMHO is that you decide on the absolute max you wish to bid and the computer places that bid at the very last moment. Placing it then prevents others noticing that the auction is popular and bidding up the item. That's it. If you're gonna up your max bid after you snipe and lose to someone who outbid you, before the auction ends, you run into the dangerous territory of a bid war and you could lose more money that way.

I thought it was impossible to snipe bid on Yahoo!Japan...?

If you place a bid in the last 5 minutes of the auction, the auction is automatically extended by 5 minutes.

So if the auction ends at 10:00pm, and you bid at 9:59pm, then the auction is automatically extended to 10:04pm. That's why they have 5-minute interval bids -- there's no point in bidding closer than that. All you do is continuously extend the auction's ending.

ETA: It does make sense to not place the bid until close to the auction's end, as SakuraDreams so wisely states. My understanding is that "snipe bidding" is the eBay-style kind, where you put in your bid at the very last second so no one else has the chance to outbid you. Maybe I'm using the wrong definition?

Hi,

Yes YJ has an auto extension usually of 5minutes and that repeats itself in that after another bid is placed, another 5 min is added, but I see that's listed with auctions so maybe some auctions don't have that. The bid is as you say, not really a true snipe bid in that it doesn't steal the item away from the competition in the last few seconds before they have a chance to bid again. However, it works like a late bit in that it prevents the auction from becoming too popular i.e. gaining too much traffic. An auction with 0 bids looks uninteresting, while one with many may be more appealing.

If you look at this example:

http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/n139486094

you can see "Automatic extension" is shown as YES.

Intuitively this suggests that there are also auctions where there is no automatic extension.

I've won Yukiho via Japanica Market this way. It executed the snipe bid about a minute before bidding ended and the auto extension kicked in. Another bidder made another bid 2 min before the end of the extension but luckily my bid was still greater than that.

I also won the goth loli outfit via buyee this way. Someone bid against my "snipe bid" but he or she fell just short of my bid by 500yen.

"Snipe" is the term Japanica and Buyee use. I have no idea if that's truly the correct ebay use.
