Volks News 59 (DDH 08 and DDH 09 announced)

A bit off topic, but what's with the brown chair? Why is it singled out like that, is it more limited?

That brown version of the chair is the doll-related limited item that one can order from this issue of Volks News, if one is a VS/VIP member and got the order sheet with one's copy of the magazine.

So...Is this the new dollfie line that Volks teased? If it is I have to admit that I'm disappointed. But hopefully it isn't. I wonder if we'll be seeing a couple more standard dolls then as well since they seemed to stop at 06 and missed 05 out completely even though it did come later in their defence.

The 08 is cute and the 09 is as well but it is very similar to 07. I's like to see some more pics for a better feel of her sculpt. She looks cute anyway though...

Very cute! I like that DDH-08 has less cheek fat than DDH-09. They actually look quite different from each other, so I'm impressed. The lower nose on DDH-08 is cute but not really my style. I like the look of DDH-09 more. However, I'm more interested in painting DDH-08 because her eye shape is more versatile IMO-- plus the mouth can lead to some interesting painting jobs and mods (cat fang, toothy grin, just the upper teeth showing, no teeth at all like in the preview!). DDH-09 is more like DDH-07's younger sibling or something with the lower placement +larger size of the eyes, cheek fat (cuuuuute), and small smile.

08 is a "Milhi" type. But 09 reminds me of Saber Alter. More smiling but definitely her. And maybe a bit of Hatsune Miku mixed in.

Man I'm even more excited about the 09 head now. I've got an 05 and 07 on the way and I think I could make the three of them into the same character but different expressions with the right face-ups.

I wonder if the 08 and 09 heads (and the new dream wigs) will be available separately at the DollPoint or if they will only come as part of a full set...

Unless something changes, the plans are to sell them both as individual items and as part of D'Coord sets.

Oh man i want the 08 head so badly!!

I'm really in love with the DDH-08 head I've been waiting for Volks to make a head that has a small open smile like that since it's hard to find someone who has had a lot of experience with modding mouths in that way. This just makes the whole process a lot easier~ I remembered one of my co-workers is going to Japan (Akihabara to be exact) in September so I told him when I saw him at Anime Expo that he'll be picking up a head for me with the money I give him

I own the MDD version of the TnK School Swimsuit Set and did experience staining from this set. Of course I don't know if the new versions of the School Swimsuit Set will stain, but I thought I might give you a head's up on my experience with the one I own in case staining concerns you. About how long until we start seeing these in white and semiwhite?

I'm kind of iffy about the 08 head. I'd love a cat fang girl though and this seems like the head for that... I think I'll have to wait for owner pics. Volks really needs to take better pics :/

I think the D'Coord models are pre-painted, and the D'Coord models are the only way to get the pre-painted 08 and 09 heads.

 

The 08 and 09 blank heads will be sold at Akihabara only (no online sales!) -- so you'll need to purchase through SakuraSlyph, Y!J, or another intermediary. Luckily, it sounds like the blank heads are not limited.

 

I'm not sure why you'd think the heads would ever be cheaper? The 08 and 09 blanks are 3,800 yen + 8% tax = 4,104 yen total for the open-eyed versions... that's the exact same price as all other blank DD heads.

She meant instead of going through SnS and pay for the service, she'll just wait till they pop up for a good price on YJA like the rest of the heads do after a while that they've been for sale.

Ahhhh, that makes a ton more sense. I suspect the blank heads will pop up on Y!J eventually, since it doesn't seem like they're quantity-limited or time-limited, just location-limited. Hopefully we may even see some D'Coord models on Y!J after a bit of time...

I want both of them!!! >< They are going on my list!^^ The 08 head is so cute!!^^ Can't wait to see them customized!^^

Unfortunately nobody knows. Volks is just like that.

For example, they announced white MDD parts afair maybe a year ago and still didn't managed to make it
