CuteOne Posted August 27, 2015 Wow, he looks amazing. His face looks a little squished but I think that that would be solved with a faceup and a wig. I'm honestly really happy to see some photos of him. Thank you for posting photos with such lovely poses, Sister Kyoya. You know you can turn off signatures if they make you uncomfortable. 📸Instagram📸
SisterKyoya Posted August 28, 2015 Finally got Madison's faceup done but it will be a while before he has hair. As much as I wanted to mod the eyes, I chose not to so it would be easier to see what this sculpt looks like with just a faceup added. It is still my personal opinion that boy faceups are much more difficult that girls because of the minimal lines. For a comparison I did the fanciest faceup I've managed so far on Darla right before I did Madison. His eyes are from Parabox and they are the best fit visually out of all the eyes I tried. A round iris just looks very weird so the more oval it is the better, at least for the animetic eyes*. I really wish I had some good BJD eyes to try in them, Tama's are just to big (the iris) and filled the eye completely. *This is purely my opinion, I don't claim that it is definitive info or anything. It could be that my problem with the Volks eyes is the ones I have are all just too big. The standard size I have is 22mm. I also made an easy neck adapter for the DD heads! It only took a wire hanger (and something to cut it with), paper, a glue stick, and heat shrink tubing. It works really well, keeps Ralph's head on firmly (I can hold him up by his head), and is removable! I'll make a tutorial for it later when I have time, but it's pretty darn easy. Danny's suggestion for using airline tubing is just absurd. The heads would be floppy. The tube would collapse because there would be no internal support. Now I have some extra tubing I need to find a project for. Yes, Danny should be releasing two heads (last I heard) but for the Dev version there wasn't a choice for the head. I've learned that with Danny because he's got so much stuff going on, we won't hear about something for quite some time and then he suddenly pops up and is pretty much like, "Hey, look at this thing I made!" So the lack of more info isn't an indication that it fell through. I have yet to hear any more details about Eiji's glasses... *grumble, grumble* ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Error-Chan Posted August 28, 2015 Thought I would post letting you guys know Enji Dev is available again on the site. I would if I could =< http://shop.culturejapan.jp/collections/featured-products/products/eiji-seiun-developer-version
Error-Chan Posted September 4, 2015 Is smart doll Enji head the same size as the girls heads by any chance? if it is would getting the Dev version be any good for my wig shop (that is if they have a dramatic difference in fit form the DD heads.
Mysha Posted September 5, 2015 Is smart doll Enji head the same size as the girls heads by any chance? if it is would getting the Dev version be any good for my wig shop (that is if they have a dramatic difference in fit form the DD heads. I can tell you that the difference in fit is noticeable. I was unable to put Kizuna's wig on my Asuna. And another wig, which was almost perfect fit on Asuna, was way too big on Kizuna's head, so that I had to use both silicone cap and cotton cap to make it fit. The heads' cirbleepferences measured via a neck and a forehead are: - Asuna: 22cm - Kizna: 21cm The heads' cirbleepferences measured above the eyes parallel to the ground level are: - Asuna: 22.5cm - Kizuna: 22cm Hope that helps ^^ - Kizuna [smart Doll] - Isabelle [saber Extra + Obitsu60] - Maya [DDS DDH-06] - Angelica [DD Sakuya] - Kitty [MDD Mariko] - Moonlight [smart Doll] - Emily [DD Miku] - https://annasangels.capsel.org/

Error-Chan Posted September 5, 2015 The heads' cirbleepferences measured via a neck and a forehead are:- Asuna: 22cm - Kizna: 21cm The heads' cirbleepferences measured above the eyes parallel to the ground level are: - Asuna: 22.5cm - Kizuna: 22cm Eiji's head is 22cm. So they do have the same head size =o=. maybe the Enji would do so I can have a smart doll for wig making one will have to work this out. not that it will happen any time soon XD unless someone buys me one but I don't know who that would be lol
eg4799 Posted September 7, 2015 I'm so excited for there to finally be a male anime doll can't wait
pscindy_13 Posted September 8, 2015 The latest version was bugging me proportions-wise, so I gave in and did a paintover ^_^;This is probably more muscular than most folks will like, but he was feeling wasp-waisted and with too much detail around the belly. I LOVE this version! You did a great job on it. Did you ever send it to danny jadepixel? If you didn't I highly suggest you do. Or we all band together to tell him this is what we all want lol
SisterKyoya Posted September 11, 2015 I posted a question pertaining to the SmDB but I thought that the specific purpose was a bit OT I posted it elsewhere. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
SisterKyoya Posted September 14, 2015 Just thought I'd give you guys the heads up on release dates. I emailed Danny today and asked if Eiji's release date was set or not, since the beginning of October is a couple of weeks away (the last release date that I knew of.) Danny said because of some molding issues that it looks like the release will likely be in January. I really do hate to be the bearer of bad news for those who have been eagerly waiting for Eiji to hurry up, but I know for me it gives me loads more time to make outfits for him that are more than just basic stuff. I'm really delighted that I'll have time to work on pieces that I'd personally find more impressive than a sea of !@#%!&@$$ t-shirts. I am capable of much more than that, it just happens to be the basic thing to start with. Although the wait isn't fun, the plus side is that there will be more things available for him when he does start to invade the planet. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Monty Posted September 15, 2015 That's sad news, but I'm glad that it means Danny is taking his time on him and wants him to turn out well. It means he's taking your, and the other participants', feedback into account. While many have pointed out that its a bit annoying whenever he talks about not being interested in the male form etc in regards to this doll, his committment to making a good product by implementing this development program and leaving impressive parts of the decision-making process to those who are interested in the male form is great. (although I admit it can be jarring at times, kind of reminds me of 'no homo'.) I know he said some of the hands are too 'feminine' for him but I fail to see how. I mean almost any hand shape can look feminine depending on how its used. Clenched fists? Could be manly, could be held under the chin in a puppy-dog smile look. Pointed fingers? Could be girly and dainty, could also be a dramatic Phoenix Wright style 'OBJECTION!' pose. Which I'd love, personally. ...besides, I like my boys to be cute. *twitter*instagram*art*
pscindy_13 Posted September 15, 2015 That's very upsetting news. But It gives me more time to save up for him and I'm happy to hear his working on it (hopefully make him more buff) I'll be so upset if the final version is just going to end up the same :/
Amara77 Posted September 15, 2015 Ehhh I'm not surprised I know some people were expecting him in June though so that must be tough. I"d rather wait and have a better product myself. http://amara77.wordpress.com blog and shop Spoke too soon....
foo Posted September 23, 2015 Well, Danny wrote this in his recent A Week in Tokyo post, The development of Eiji is taking waaaay longer than anticipated - we had to resculpt the head, head cap and torso - then get them duplicated in wax and electromolded ;-;
Monty Posted September 23, 2015 That pic of him with the jeans though... I'm really debating whether I should get him early or wait until November next year. I'm going to be in Japan for 10 days in February, and then if I make it into JET again I'll be there from July for a year. I really want to buy him from the Culture Japan store rather than order him online, and although I originally planned to do that as next years birthday present for myself it's going to be REALLY HARD resisting picking him up when I'm there in February. (Especially because there's no guarantee that my JET application will be successful) But since February is so close to his currently projected release date, he might be harder to get ahold of... I think I might cry if I went to the store and he wasn't there. I wonder how likely it is that Danny would let me reserve one for pick-up... *twitter*instagram*art*

Monty Posted October 2, 2015 I like him but I'm sad he isn't smiling anymore I feel like most 1/3 male dolls have these brooding looks and I just really prefer faces that look happy. I wonder how hard it will be to mod that... ...it also means that when he is displayed with the rest of the lineup he will be the only one that isn't smiling, which makes it look, like he's upset about being surrounded by girls or something pft. Gonna need to see more pics before I decide I want to buy him but I'll definitely admit I like this version less. On the plus side he looks a lot more like Haru for anyone wanting to mod him into that. *twitter*instagram*art*
Jezrah Posted October 3, 2015 To me it looks like his frown is just in the faceup, and his mouth can still be painted in a smile, like the difference between Mirai and Kizuna. It's hard to tell without closeups but that's the impression I get.
Monty Posted October 3, 2015 Yes, I think you're right. The slightest, slightest adjustment to the lines on either side of his mouth will make the difference between a smile and a frown. While this does mean that a smile would be theoretically easy to mod, I'd be too terrifying of ruining him to intefere with the faceup! Don't get me wrong, I still think he looks great and want one, I just like happy looking dolls and seeing him with this face makes me wonder what he's upset about. In Kizuna's case her stern face matches the usual tsundere illustrations of her, but all the pics I've seen of the actual Eiji character have been smiling, so I guess I'm just a little surprised. But I also don't want to sound like I'm complaining because it actually really annoys me when people react to any new picture with 'too -adjective-' immediately. I mean having your opinion is fine but so many people just say it so rudely that I feel sorry for Danny, there are nicer ways to state your thoughts than just blurting two words without consideration. (just my own thoughts but one of the main reasons I can't get into resin dolls is because nearly all the boys look so sad or scowling, so part of me is hoping Danny isn't looking too much towards resin bjds for inspiration of what he thinks girls will like) *twitter*instagram*art*
