Danny Choo Smart Doll Boy [NSFW]

He's wonderful Torino! I can't wait to see the unboxing video and more! I have a similar editing situation with my unboxing video for Melody. I probably spent nearly 40 Minutes getting glue out of her head because her eyes came out but left that crap behind.

Just wanted to post some more of him. I think it's safe to say I've bonded with him. Even though I think I need to wash this Dollce wig or something because it's weirdly stiff/hard and just nowhere near the nice feel of his default wig.

I'm a little annoyed about so many (well, two or three) people saying sd16 is the best size for him because everything I've bought for him so far has been sd16 and everything so far is reeeally baggy. (At least for the clothes I bought, I bought them more for style than size and the bagginess is kinda cute for some things like the school sweater)

Since I'm still in Japan I think I'll go to DollK tomorrow and try some sd13 stuff.

Eventually I'll take better pictures of the outfits I have for him and where they do and don't fit well for the 'what fits Eiji thread'.

@Torino: AH.....I think someone has stolen my heart.... he's so precious, it's the first time I see him and I know that you were going to get him. I'm happy for you!! sorry that the size didn't work for you >_< I have SD17 dolls who can wear SD13 clothes (a bit tight but it works) so hopefully, if Eiji is a weird size between SD16 and SD13, the SD13 clothes will fit him well.

Aw, that picture is really cute! I really like the one you posted on Tumblr today too. I would've told you so on there...but I frankly have no idea how Tumblr works beyond image browsing. But that blue shirt is a really nice color and looks good on him!

I also bought SD16 size clothes for my boy since he's around 65cm, but actually he fits much much better in SD13. SD16 is really baggy!

 

Has anyone tried different size eyes in him? The largest I have is 16mm and those are a total no fit. I'm considering getting him some 20mm resin ones but I'd love to see some comparisons first if anyone can supply!

He's not 65cm, he's 605mm or 60.5cm. There's a lot of difference there. The girls are 60cm, so he's only a teeny tiny bit taller than them (half a cm in fact).

sD13 does seem to be best, I had thought sd16 would be better due to his broad shoulders but that doesn't seem to be the case. I do like the sd16 outfits he has, though, i just wish they came in smaller sizes.

 

What in curious about now is what other shoes will fit him. His default shoes are so tight they took me forever to get on and I almost thought someone had mistakenly put in Mirai's shoes, they were so tight. If I get him more shoes I'd want slightly looser ones, but not so big on him they resemble clown shoes which is unfortunately how a lot of male SD size dolls wearing shoes tend to look.

That's so funny, because my Eiji's shoes slid on SO super easily, as did Mirai's, but Kizuna's and Ebony's were a BEAST (and they're the same shoe as Mirai's). I actually thought I was going to break their feet trying to get their shoes on. So, I wonder if there is a slight difference in foot size between each doll, or if the slight difference is actually in the shoes.

It would be the shoes, they're handmade as opposed to the factory-made smart doll parts.

I still need to edit my unboxing vid of his but the 20 minute 'shoe struggle' is either going to be cut or sped up because wow was that an effort.

Part of me wants to take his shoes off and try to put them again to see if its easier the second time (and I assume the shoes get a little looser with use) but another part of me never wants to have to put them on again.

If the shoes are too tight- hold them under a blow dryer for a minute. The heat will soften them up a bit and they will stretch to go on easier.

Just wanted to let you guys know what's been going on with me & this is the best format that I'm able at the moment.

 

I haven't forgotten or abandoned the clothes I was working on and I'm still here, but the link to the video explains why I physically can't do it right now.

I was so glad to hear from you again - I was actually just wondering the other day if I should try to contact you to make sure you were ok;;

I hope you can recover at a rate thats comfortable to you. I'm glad you have a method of communication in which you can leave long messages that doesnt involve typing. If you are able to share any updates or even just ramblings in this format, that would be really nice! It's just not the same without you around.

Like Torino I was getting worried too. It's relieving to hear from you. I hope all goes well.

Ps: I wonder what would Danny's reaction be at the custom hybrid with Eiji's body and Mirai's head. The sweetest girl can kick ass as a guy!

He retweeted it on the smart doll twitter so I guess he doesn't mind or is impressed with the creativity.

I honestly wouldnt have known it was Mirai if the owner hadnt said so.

I think it'd definitely work as Eiji's face kind of reminds me of Takane's. I really hope someone tries this some time.

I think Danny started selling unpainted heads in the outlet part of the Mirai Store so hopefully he will eventually online too.

I think he is looking lovely. The contrast of tan with grey hair is quite nice.

This could actually not be that far off, because Danny has made the workshop option available as something you can buy to be delivered. Currently it's only in Japan, but he may end up extending it to people overseas as well.

I'm not sure how the orderable version differs from the store version but the store version lets you choose any parts you want; even tan and white together, with any wig or eyes.

 

Although I think he does plan to sell heads and bodies separately eventually too, but not sure when.
