Indeed I cant wait to see the face-up artists get here hands on these heads it will be awesome!. I think looking at this V2 I might just get the body and had ( if this head goes for the final Enji that is) and make El's again. but I am not sure just yet will have to think and see my budget. if the body on its own is a good price I will stick with the 07 I have for him now.

I like the changes, his nose and jawline look better. I like how he isn't as flat faced from the side as Mirai too.

Hmmm i do like this a lot better. A lot less modding i have to do xD. The eyes are still a bit big for my character, but the head itself is a nice balance between Boyish and Manly and i think the end is dependent on the faceup (he would look so cute with a dark grumpy face)

 

 

I still need to see the Macho body so I'm still not 100% on buying him.... kinda like 67% sold

Oh, that does help a lot! I do feel like the nose could be a little bit wider/thicker still, but bringing the bridge up was pretty significant.

Nice improvements, yay! I'm not sure I like how much his cheeks bulge out in the 3/4 view, if that stays final, I might have to sand that down (if I get him). I also think the lips should still be a tad higher on the face.

Looks a lot better IMO. Unsure if I'll like him, but I like that he doesn't seem as elongated. Nose could have more presence though. I feel like has a more masculine side, clearly less female. Looks more like Eiji to me too.

looking way way better! loving the changes so far, has a feminine touch, but not over the top about it. I like that he has a bit more definition, i agree that the eyes and nose could still use a PINCH more work on them, but otherwise, i'm pretty ok with it.

 

It still looks the smart doll stye but more versatile of a sculpt. Which is important, because this is the first male we'll get for a long time, even if he does do collabs its still going to be quite awhile. Btw...Danny did a vote on Eiji's 'beestings' awhile back lol, any news on if those will be added to the finished product? XD I dunno about everyone else here, the body is great its just the nipless-ness of the prototype kinda bugs me lol.

 

But hey! happy your out there watching Danny, thanks for listening to your consumers, thats important and I feel like too many doll companies ignore feedback. So good on you!

 

And as someone with spinal stenosis and other spinal and neck issues, I completely understand how painful it can be to be working all day but still pulling through, I appreciate and admire that. So again if your out there reading, thank you!

I agree, he's looking much better now! *___* I'm still a bit unsure of his profile, but I suppose if he'll look really handsome from the front, I could live with it, haha~ XD I hope that Danny will adjust the size of the head a bit, as well, it looked like it was kinda big and the neck seemed thin and shoulders narrow somehow... I love me some guys with broad shoulders! ♥

I wanna note that Danny encourages people to tweak the 3D image, so if you think this mold is not perfect, you can fix it and share your ideas with Danny.

 

Have a look at the following images and if you see anything niggling then take the images and tweak them in photoshop - you can use the liquid tool to do stuff like that and then share back with us.

Frankly when I saw the new edit I was disappointed. With already having boys with 03, 05, 01, and the upcoming KosMos head, I have PLENTY babyfaced DD boys, with more Volks sculpts that I could do an army of them with.

 

The nose is definitely improved but the face is too squashed and I think it will look somewhat odd with the more mature body. So I did a minor Photoshop edit:

 

 

 

This is really a small edit and it doesn't make his face elongated like it previously had been, but I think it still keeps him looking like Eiji. ANd I made sure that the bridge of the nose stayed between the eyes like it had been. (The full-sized pics are on my Flickr, just click the image.)

 

Thoughts? Other edit ideas?

It's hard to tell if the face looks squashed/too long without seeing how it fits proportionally with the body... On the first version folks thought the head was too big for the body, and too long. I wonder if the new sculpt has been shortened from the first? Or if adjusting other areas made it look less long?

 

I did my own edit again too (in grey scale because it's easier on the eyes). I altered the cheeks and jawline, and raised the mouth a bit. This edit is more just how I want the sculpt to turn out, other people maybe want the sharper jawline or something else ^^;

 

 

 

Sister Kyoya, I like your second edit too! I thought about narrowing the chin, but then I remembered all the people who want broad manly manly features, ha ha

The more I see of the v2 sculpt unedited, it is driving me crazy with how much of a 'babyface' it is. Sure Eiji has somewhat of one, but it's so squished that he looks like he could be Tama's friend. Lengthening the head about the level of the bottom of the earlobe just a smidge really helps fix that, without it reverting to v1.

 

Eiji's chin is hard, because his artwork is really pointed, and yet that seems to also be a complaint with the Smart Doll version. (pic added for convenience...)

I love the last edit with just the widened lips..... if his eyes were a little more closed and top lid more straight he'd be perfect for me (but not for Eiji so ya know)

Like I said, very un-Eiji. Plus it's a royal pain in the rear doing edits like that in Photoshop instead of a 3D modeling program... Plus it looks weird without the glasses...

The lengthened face is good! The wider mouth is great too, makes him look more masculine and separates him from the girls.

Personally I like the smaller eyes edit, but yes that is very un-Eiji

If he ends up being something more like these edits, I feel like I can start to be excited again!

I wonder what Vega would look like with an anime style face-up... looks like he's no longer for sale though.

 

Faceup on eyes is based on Danny's v2 faceup & pic of eyes is from Danny's post. The moment I saw this my heart jumped. The glasses are wrong for Eiji's default, but close. The squished babyface would NOT work with glasses! I'll quit typing so I can post this. *SQUEEEEE!*

Good... (hnnnnng megane) but I still see Eiji as a happy guy so I'm expecting Danny will ship him with a happy faceup. ^^

Please do something with his lips LOL. And try shopping a wig on him? Or just do something with his lips.

I'm currently drawing him a wig, but do you have any suggestion about the lips? I'm not so confidant about those. It doesn't help that much of the time that anime guy's lips are just a slit. Any wig suggestions too?
