Misheru Posted June 30, 2014 I am just curious for those who have hybrid girls, what is your preference for the body? I have girls all of mixes, I think. I have Obitsu/Volks, Volks/Obitsu, SQ/Volks, Volks/SQ, Obitsu/SQ, SQ/Obitsu. I have two of the original SQLab bodies...the 53cm type. I love the look of them. But I have never been a resin fan. I have tried to get used to them. I am horrible at trying to work with the stringing. I even broke one of the little cap pieces on the ankle area trying to change feet. I am not meant for resin. I did blush them and I think they are very pretty at least. They look lovely sitting. I love their hands. But I am already "body poor". I have 4 floating heads atm . So I am stuck with them for now. I wish there was a place for swaps and trades for this type of body. Few people that have vinyls for trade would do it. So, what do you all prefer? For those of you with the bodies, do you do more hybrids or do you keep it completely resin/resin and vinyl/vinyl? I am just curious today, I think. ~ ❥ Misheru...the *M* in H&M House of Vinyl ❥ ~ ℒℴѵℯ❤ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒) ˚₊✩‧ All your dolliehs are belong to us! ✩‧₊˚ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒)
Yukamina Posted June 30, 2014 I have a few hybrids A DD head on an obitsu 50 body, an SQ head on obitsu 50, and a DD on a resin MSD body. Actually, I only have one obitsu 50 body, the two heads have to take turns, lol. I like both resin and vinyl. I also have some resin/resin hybrids that aren't anime style. I'm sure there are people who'd love to buy an SQ body without haven't to go through SQ Labs ^^; Many people like the sculpts but the company has bad service which drives people away. chien Posted June 30, 2014 It all depends on the sculpt! However, I like how resin poses better when standing the doll because there's more weight to it-- I find that my vinyl dolls fall over way too easily as a result. Vinyl is so light and easy to carry though. :> Plus the inner skeleton leads to some pretty awesome poses. Resin is definitely more delicate though, and I'm sorry that your doll's ankle is broken! D: If you kept the piece, you could try epoxy to put it back on?
Misheru Posted July 2, 2014 Thanks, Chien. It isn't really her ankle I don't think...it is the cap over the joint. More cosmetic than anything. I have no resin experience so I have no idea how to explain it. It wasn't a big deal, but it made me realize I wasn't cut out for resin. I have an old Customhouse Ai Choa that I got from a friend when I first switched to larger dolls. She is the same age as my Miu and a Misheru in my collection. I rarely get her from her chair or change her outfit, but I adore her and always will because of where she she came from (and she is so beautiful). But I am a vinyl girl, except for heads. Omg...I love SQLab heads! ~ ❥ Misheru...the *M* in H&M House of Vinyl ❥ ~ ℒℴѵℯ❤ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒) ˚₊✩‧ All your dolliehs are belong to us! ✩‧₊˚ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒)
chien Posted July 2, 2014 Ah okay! Best of luck. :,D! It's still a bummer when you damage a doll even if you can't see it-- I broke a piece of the interior head plate shelf of one of my previous dolls and I was so sad about it despite the fact that it literally did not contribute to anything and the doll functioned fine without it as a result. K-2 Posted July 5, 2014 Yes, K2...I blame you! You started it all! 105 now and counting.... That is an amazing total. My group of 24 and I salute you and yours. Just one question: Do you use name tags on them? (I'd have to.)
Misheru Posted July 7, 2014 Lol...thanks. Actually MY side (which is currently 62 girls of the 105) all have first, middle and last names. I can remember them all (at least first and last) with no problem. The H side has 43 and I know all of his by first name, but he has a little trouble recalling all of mine. We have a cheatsheet just in case. It is funny how these kind of doll have such personalities that recalling names are easy. I tried naming other dolls I used to collect (16 and 12 inch fashion type dolls) and after I got past 10 or so...I lost it and returned to their regular names given by the company. They were lovely but just not memorable because there was no personality. It is so easy with DD, Obitsu, SQ and hybrids of these. They are all so individual and unique, it is like remembering a friend's name. ~ ❥ Misheru...the *M* in H&M House of Vinyl ❥ ~ ℒℴѵℯ❤ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒) ˚₊✩‧ All your dolliehs are belong to us! ✩‧₊˚ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒)
