Learning the Lingo

Hey Everyone!

 

I am totally new to Dollfie's and I am just overwhelmed by all the shorthand used when shopping for clothes and accessories. I apologize if this topic is already been posted, but I am still overwhelmed learning the forums!

 

So, I just received my Dollfie Dream Dynamite, and I am trying to figure out what I can buy that will fit her. What sort of shorthand should I be looking for when picking clothing?

On Volks: DDDy for certain, and usually they're pretty good about cross-labeling what will fit multiple bodies there. Sometimes stuff labeled just for SD16 can work too, though it may be long in the arms or torso, or a wee bit loose in the waist--i.e., the Peacock Blue Evening Waltz set, where the corset skirt's waist is a little too long, but you can roll the waist down inward and then you can't tell at all.

 

On other sites: SD16 size stuff will be pretty damn close, as will Soom Super Gem and Dollmore Model Doll Female (F) stuff, though with the same warning as above.

 

From measurements Iplehouse's nYID stuff (new YID, that is, the "n" there is important) looks pretty close, though I've heard some of it is loose even on DDDy? Don't have any myself so can't confirm.

So, for example, can you help me "decode" this example. I was looking at these shoes:

 

SB-SD13B-088

 

How would I read this item and how it is labeled? With the abbreviations and such?

We don't have any threads dedicated to DD fitting, do we? Like shoes = SD16 and so on, wigs = whatever. It would be great if someone would take the time to set one up, it gets asked a lot...

SD13B = SD13 Boys, they have larger feet. The naming convention for Volks shoe line is SB for Shoes Boutique, then followed by what they're made for, followed by the model number.
